The Pre-Intermediate level corresponds to the first part of the A2 level of the CEFR and is equivalent to IELTS 3-3.5 and TOEFL 18-56
This is a starting point for non-English speakers, young children and those going on vacation requiring basic levels of communication.
Future tense, countable and uncountable nouns, as well as would like, some, and any. Learned vocabulary relates to food and drink, jobs, the weather, music, money, expressions with have amongst other topics.
In the end of this level the speaker will have a Basic Expression level of English and will be able to use common greetings, react to news, engage in short social interactions, toask and answer questions about what they do at work and in their free time, to give and accept invitations.
